Beautiful romantic canels at Kunming
Kunming is the capital of the wonderful district Yunnan, at the south of the country. The name Yunnan means "South of the Clouds". Yunnan is the district in China with the largest ethnic diversity. The capital of the district is Kunming.
Many interesting and cultural tourist destination in Yunnan include the town Dali, which is the historic center of the Nanzhao and Dali kingdoms, and Jinghong, the center and prefectural capital of the Xishuangbanna Dai minority autonomous prefecture.
The city Lijiang is a Naxi minority city. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
Shangri-La County (formerly Zhongdian) is a significant ethnic Tibetan township and county set high in Yunnan's north-western mountains.
Yuanyang is a Hani minority settlement with vast rice-terraces. The Stone Forest is a series of karst outcrops east of Kunming.
